00As subconsultant to CDM,
Jacobs Associates is providing the design for the 600-linear foot long
twin tunnel undercrossing of the protected wetland at Babel Slough. The
tunnel crossing design includes design of the vertical alignment, evaluation
of the construction methods, and tunnel and shaft excavation support design
in response to geotechnical site conditions. It is anticipated that at
the preliminary design slope, the crossing will be constructed using twin-tunnel
drives and installed using pipe-jacking methods and a microtunnel boring
machine. Jacobs Associates is providing plans, specifications, and cost-estimation
documents for the trenchless sections of this project.
