Saracina Vineyards Wine Cave Addition

00Jacobs Associates was retained to design an addition to the Saracina Vineyards wine cave. The existing wine cave has one portal with a 150-foot-long hallway extending to a 30-foot-wide dome. The project involved the design of a new hallway to connect to alcoves in the dome from a new portal. The new hallway is 13.5 feet wide and 13.5 feet high with a modified horseshoe shape (straight sides with semicircular arched roof). The extension is approximately 150 feet in length. A new portal is planned which includes cutting into the slope 40 feet to make a 120-foot-wide level area in front of the wine cave addition.
