00During preliminary design,
Jacobs Associates assisted the project team in selection of shaft sites,
shaft configurations, geotechnical assessment of conditions at each potential
site, preliminary design of alternatives, and cost estimates of the preferred
shaft configurations and methods. Continuing into final design, Jacobs
Associates provided detailed structural design of the shafts. For the
pump station shaft, this work has included development of a slurry wall
design as well as a composite wall system which allows use of the excavation
support system as the pump station’s final lining.
