00The Central Utah Water Conservancy District implemented a design-build construction approved for the Upper Diamond Fork project, a new water conveyance tunnel near Provo, Utah. To design and construct the project, the District selected Obayashi/Clyde Construction Joint Venture with Jacobs Associates as the Contract Engineer.
00The design-build package included 22,900 linear feet of 126-inch finished diameter tunnel. Other elements of the project included a 700-foot deep drop shaft, a 700-foot deep maintenance shaft, an underground chamber; a reinforced concrete flow control structure with two 48-inch diameter submerged sleeve valves, a reinforced concrete outlet structure, 6,500 linear feet of 96-inch I.D. steel pipeline connecting the flow control structure to an existing pipeline, and 2,000 linear feet of 96-inch I.D. pipeline for emergency bypass flow.
