00Community involvement and cooperation were exceptional. The system was fully operational in July 2001 and officially in compliance in November 2001, exceeding the schedule requirements. A supplement to the original project that includes a 60-inch diameter inlet line to address an entrainment issue was completed in fall 2002.
00The construction management (CM) program included overall management, resident engineering for the major project components of tunnels and water storage tanks, project office and field engineering, scheduling and cost estimating, management of materials testing, and QA/QC inspections. Construction of the HWQIP is complete. The project received the “Outstanding Underground Project” award from the American Underground Construction Association at the North American Tunneling 2002 Conference.
