00The Blue Ridge Dam LLO consists of a new 1,000-foot water discharge tunnel that provides the Blue Ridge Reservoir with an alternate facility to regulate reservoir elevations other than the existing penstock.
00Jacobs Associates was the lead designer on this design-build project that consisted of a new intake structure, outlet structure, and tunnel running under the left abutment of the existing dam. The tunnel was steel-lined, 9-foot in diameter (12-foot excavated), and constructed primarily through moderately weathered metamorphic rock using drill-and-blast methods.
