William Edgerton’s leadership, honed over a 35-year career,
dovetails in dual roles as Jacobs Associates Principal and President.
Mr. Edgerton joined the firm in 1987. His management and technical expertise
stem from hands-on field construction experience combined with a wide
range of consulting and project team roles in engineering design, construction
management, and construction claims.
In the heavy civil and underground construction sectors, Mr. Edgerton
is recognized as an expert in developing contract provisions and specifications
that apportion risk in a fair and equitable manner and are designed to
reduce construction disputes. He has published numerous professional
papers and articles on technical and engineering management topics. In
2002 he received the American Underground Construction Associations’ Outstanding
Individual award recognizing his efforts towards “bringing owners,
engineers and contractors together, building confidence in each other
and good will. . .” Mr. Edgerton serves as Chairman
of the AUA Steering Committee revising the 1974 “Better Contracting
in Underground Construction” manual. He also has served
as a former Director of the Dispute Review Board Foundation.
Mr. Edgerton received his BS in Civil
Engineering from Tufts University, and MBA
in
Procurement
and Contracting at George Washington University. He is a registered
Professional Civil Engineer in California, Florida, Maryland, New
York, Oregon, Puerto
Rico, Rhode Island, and Virginia.
