Dan Adams Named Principal
President and Principal Bill Edgerton recently announced the appointment
of Daniel N. “Dan” Adams as Principal. Dan joins other Principals
Dan Kass, Steve Klein and Mike McRae.
Dan has more than 14 years experience with a variety of projects including
pipelines, tunnels, highways, and waterfront structures. His work at Jacobs
Associates carries the mark of his extensive technical expertise, management
experience and broad knowledge of design coordination and structural design
for underground structures. He joined Jacobs Associates in 1995 after
working closely with the firm on a City and County of San Francisco’s
“Clean Water Program” project. Since 1995 Dan has taken a
lead role in numerous Jacobs Associates projects all over the U.S. from
San Francisco to Boston, Providence to Portland.
This year, Dan has relocated to the Seattle area to establish a Jacobs
Associates’ office serving the Pacific Northwest. He will be leading
the firm’s work as tunnel designers and construction management
specialists for a variety of clients throughout metropolitan Seattle.

Dan spent several years working on two projects in Australia: the M-5
East Motorway Driven Tunnels in Sydney, where he was Lead Tunnel Designer
and the Melbourne City Link-Burnley and Domain Tunnels in Melbourne, where
he was Senior Tunnel Design Engineer.
“The M5 opened to traffic over six months ahead of schedule,”
says Manfred Lechner, the Construction Manager on the Sydney M-5 Tunnel
project. “Throughout the project, Dan showed an excellent ability
to work with our large, multidisciplined team. He showed professionalism
and leadership and managed the pressures of a very tight schedule.”
Dan is the author of numerous professional papers concerning tunnel design
and construction. He earned both a B.S. and M.S. in civil engineering
degrees from the University of Massachusetts. He is a registered professional
engineer in California, Massachusetts, New Mexico, and Australia.
