Responsibility: Why We Don't 'Just Do It'

Abstract
In its December 2007 issue, Tunnels and Tunneling International (T&TI) magazine published a letter from Bill Edgerton, which he wrote in response to their February 2007 story on the Lane Cove tunnel collapse. The letter generated comment and interest in the industry, and was appreciated by the editor of the magazine as a worthwhile contribution to the industry's discussion about the responsibilities engineers have for the safety of workers and the public.
