Bike/Pedestrian

Jacobs Associates has experience with the design and construction of new bicycle/pedestrian tunnels and undercrossings, as well as the rehabilitation of older tunnels for conversion to nonmotorized use, such as “rails to trails” projects. We embrace efforts to get cars off of congested roads and onto bicycle/pedestrian pathways. This not only reduces traffic pollution and promotes a healthy lifestyle, it can enhance safety. These projects are often unique, and run the gamut from creating safe rail and highway undercrossings, to converting transportation corridors, to even accommodating shared rail and bike/pedestrian use.
